Walla Walla 150th Celebrations

Walla Walla’s Sesquicentennial

Celebrating the Journey”

Walla Walla will celebrate its 150th Anniversary (sesquicentennial) in 2019 and planning is well underway to ensure this exciting milestone is celebrated in style. For those who can remember any of the previous celebrations (90th, 100th, and 125th) this one also promises not to disappoint.

The major weekend of celebrations will take place from 25-28 January 2019. These celebrations will include a range of entertainment, the Greater Hume Shire Australia Day event, German style food and beer, community worship service, community picnic lunch, a street parade and much more.

Planning is also underway for a trip from Ebenezer South Australia to Walla Walla to follow in the footsteps of the original trek journey that the early settlers travelled in 1868. This will be a self-drive event from 7th to 12th October 2018 and promises to be an interesting tour for those who are able to come along for the ride.

A book is being produced which will be a pictorial recollection of the journey our town has been on for the last 150 years and will be ready for sale by the end of 2018.

The organising committee meets 7:30pm the first Wednesday of each month at the Walla Walla Bowling & Recreation Cub. If you would like to be involved in the planning and/or delivery of these celebration events, please come along to any of our meetings.
